Spring 2026

HackBrown 2026

I was at HackBrown 1 week into the semester. After a 10-hour bus ride from Philadelphia, it turned out I had forgotten to "confirm" my spot. It ended up working out though.

I joined 3 brown students to create a full-stack app. My only building experience so far was a bad frontend prototype I made for tuparties. Yet, my teammates took me in to build the frontend. We had a 2 hour discussion before deciding on building a tool for investment bankers and analysts.

The Idea was simple: a tool that tracks corporate jets, an algorithm that maps it to probable M&A deals and surfaces probable stock price changes to the analyst.

After grueling lock-in sessions totalling ~18 hours, we still couldn't get the backend running. Turns out, getting private flight data is insanely difficult, to map them to companies and make sense of it, is even harder.

I did design a frontend. Used next.js, typescript, GSAP and React-Leaflet.

I had a lot of fun in this hackathon.
