Cutroom

Co-built cutroom at SpeedHacks SF 2026. It's a web app that turns a creator's raw clips into a first cut in their own editing style.

Most AI video editors hand the whole job to a model, so the cut changes from run to run and can't explain itself. In cutroom, rules do the cutting:

  • Learn a style: it measures shot lengths, pauses, pacing and caption look from a creator's past CapCut projects or finished videos.
  • Plan: simple rules cut dead air and retakes and match the creator's timing. Every cut states its reason, and the same inputs always give the same cut.
  • Direct (optional): Claude picks which takes stay and which footage goes with which words. Each pick is checked and falls back to the rules if it doesn't hold.
  • Learn from corrections: it compares the creator's edits with the original cut and suggests style updates for them to accept or reject.

The cut opens in a built-in editor, or exports to CapCut, Premiere, DaVinci Resolve or MP4.
